Ex-councillor cops bad wrap

A FORMER Casey councillor has been asked not to wear council clothing when discussing issues relating to the council with other members of the public.
According to Casey CEO Mike Tyler, the council was not aware whether ex-councillor Paul Richardson was explicitly telling residents that he is a Casey councillor.
But, according to Mr Tyler, there was a concern that a member of the community conversing about a council issue with a person wearing clothing bearing a council logo could form the impression that the person had a connection to, and was representing, the council.
“It is not acceptable that any person can create such a false impression,” Mr Tyler said.
Mr Richardson said he would continue to wear the jacket with the City of Casey logo because it kept him warm.
