POETRY is the talk of the playground after three students from an Endeavour Hills school made it to the state finals for a German poetry competition.
Students Shannon Gotthold, Diana Lucut and Joanna Leucuta from Mossgiel Park Primary School will compete in the 2009 Association of German Teachers of Victoria Years 5 to 9 State-wide Poetry Competition on Saturday 29 August after successfully competing in the regional final which was held last month.
Only first and second place-getters scored a spot in the state final.
The judges will determine the overall winner by looking at criteria such as pronunciation, intonation, phrasing, and interpretation, and the degree to which the poem has been learnt in German.
