MELBOURNE Football Club players Brock McLean and Jordie McKenzie stepped back into the classroom last week as part of the AFL’s You Can Kick Goals program.
Berwick Fields Primary School students got up close and personal with the players as they took part in the program which examines Australian values by using football and its players to help build awareness of cultural and community issues.
The players spent two hours at the school last Tuesday reinforcing messages such as fair play, respect, teamwork, harmony and leadership.
The school will be joining forces with Hallam Senior College and the football club to hold an AFL day, which will include a handball competition and a staff versus students football match.
