A TRIBUTE concert was held at a Berwick school last week to recognise local SES and CFA crews.
The students at Berwick Fields Primary School held the concert on Tuesday to show the volunteers their appreciation for the wonderful efforts and bravery displayed during the bushfires earlier this year.
The idea for the event was sparked by the children in the school choir, after learning a song called Thankyou CFA.
School captains Chris and Tegan acted as masters of ceremonies during the concert.
Choir director and event co-ordinator Helen Ryan and Fiona Lardner worked to put the event together, conveying a message of gratitude, acknowledgment and appreciation.
The junior and senior school choirs performed a number of songs including Waltzing Matilda, You Raise Me Up, and I Still Call Australia Home.
The SES and the CFA representatives were also presented with a donation from the school.
