Students enter Dreamtime

CASEY Central Secondary College honoured the country’s indigenous heritage with local Aboriginal Elder Murrindindi, from the Wurundjeri tribe.
The students got the opportunity to learn about indigenous history and culture on Friday 7 August, with Murrindindi telling stories from his life and the life of his ancestors.
Murrindindi also taught the students traditional dancing and dot painting.
“We are all guests on this land and we need to look after it,” said principal Ian McKenzie.
The celebrations are part of the school’s term-long unit on indigenous culture.
