THE City of Casey is seeking expressions of interest from community groups keen to host a free event on Australia Day.
The council will support the Australia Day celebrations by offering up to five community groups the opportunity to organise an event on Tuesday 26 January next year in the municipality.
In order to be eligible to receive funding of up to $3,500 for an event it must be free to everyone, open to all Casey residents, alcohol-free, of cultural significance and be able to cater for more than 500 people.
The successful applicants will be supported by council officers but are expected to manage all aspects of their Australia Day event. Interested community groups need to complete an expression of interest form and return it by 5pm on Friday 28 August. For details call the council’s events unit on 9705 5200.

ncluding planning, organising, budgeting, sponsorship, administration, risk management, programming, marketing, staffing and event implementation.
