NARRE North batsmen fired at the weekend, including Aussie Jones, who continued his dream run of innings.

With 109 from Peter Hunter and support from Jason Farmer (55), Narre North made 7/313 on the first day against Berwick.

After winning the toss and asking the opposition to bat, Narre North was kept in the field all day while Maranatha made 9/216. Dragon Stevanovic took 4/45 off 17 overs.

Aussie Jones made an explosive 50 retired against Keysborough. In his two other games for the club Jones made 185 and 160. Narre North bowled first and dismissed Keysborough for 87, with Rod Gasontaking 5/23 from seven overs, supported by spinner Mark Edmonds (3/14 from five overs). Narre North then took 14 overs to knock up the required runs thanks to Jones and 21 from Ian Donaldson.

Narre North had a 10-run win over Parkfield. Mathew Ruprecht’s 47 enabled Narre North to make 6/130 and the bowlers dismissed Parkfield for 120, led by Mathew Dodman, who took 3/20.

Narre North defeated Hampton Park by 25 runs. Batting first, Narre North made 4/124 thanks to Stuart Patterson (35), Bharvin Parbhu (16) and Nathan Scouler (18 not out). Narre North then restricted Hampton Park to 7/99 with fine bowling and five run outs.

Narre North batted first and posted 84. The team then struggled early to contain the opposition batsmen before the bowlers finally got on top, dismissing the team for 58. Daniel Dowling (4/4) and Alex Stevanovic (3/6) got Narre North over the line.

Narre North sent Narre Warren in and after 20 overs had reached 2/121. A good opening stand between Prasanth Radakrishnan (25 not out) and Shawn Fernando (28 not out) got Narre North off to a good start but a few wickets were lost which slowed the run rate. Off the last five overs 50 runs were needed. Chris Edwards launched into the bowling, scoring a fine 26 not out, but the side fell three runs short despite a fine effort against the unbeaten top side.

After good team effort in a hard-fought game Narre North (5/77) narrowly lost to Keysborough (2/88). Best players were Bradley McGill (18 not out) and James King (16).

Narre North played well to defeat HSD by 75 runs. Narre North batted first and made 133 thanks to fine batting by Josh Corcoran (27) and Jake Harvey (17). HSD was then dismissed for 58, Scott Olding (2/30), Aiden Barclay (1/5) and Jacob Flannery (1/8) being best of the bowlers.
