THE new bowling season is underway with Cranbourne Bowling Club’s four ladies’ teams winning their pennant games.
Lesley Mulder’s rink won by 16 shots in Cranbourne’s 82-64 victory over Noble Park in A1 Metro Pennant, while Yvonne Van Der Wees’ rink emerged victorious by 27 shots in her club’s 68-63 success against Noble Park.
Lesley was playing her first game for Cranbourne.
Mary Anne Allen’s rink’s nine-shot triumph helped her B1 team defeat Keysborough 74 to 66 and Olive Stanley’s rink won by six shots in B2 during Cranbourne’s 70-64 win over Hampton Park.
The men’s pennant sides play their final practice matches this week and the selectors will be hoping the weather is kind to allow them to finalise the sides for the start of the season this Saturday.
Cranbourne meets Box Hill RSL in Metro Pennant Division One in its opening match.
