CASEY’S older residents are being invited to take part in a free older-driver seminar on Tuesday, 20 October.
The free two-hour session, to be held at the Casey Road Safety Education Centre in Cranbourne East, will be followed by a light lunch and an electric scooter demonstration. The seminar will provide an opportunity for older drivers to learn how to keep safe when driving, as well as alternative transport and mobility options. Topics to be covered include two presentations by VicRoads and TAC on what happens to people as they age in terms of vision, hearing, reflexes, comprehension and medical conditions.
Other issues will include complex driving situations, legal responsibilities, insurance, choosing a safe car, impact of various medications, using alternative transport, avoiding social isolation and mobility options other than driving. Registration is essential. Contact the City of Casey’s customer service on 9705 5200.
