Exit ramp smash causes road-user headache

Inbound traffic was crawling on the Monash Freeway on Monday morning, 3 April, due to a collision at the Clyde Road exit ramp.

It is understood emergency services were called to a collision at the Clyde Road inbound exit ramp around 7:10am.

A CFA spokesperson said three CFA vehicles and crews from Berwick brigade responded to the incident, along with FRV crews.

Crews worked together to extricate one person from a vehicle, before the incident was deemed under control at 07:30 and the scene declared safe at 07:52am.

Paramedics also attended the scene, after which a woman believed to be in her 30s was taken to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition, with lower body pain.

Emergency services redirected motorists to the O’Shea Road and Princes Highway exits instead.
