The Berwick campus of Beaconhills College unveiled their new multi-million dollar facilities with a celebratory event including local MPs and the Archbishop of Melbourne.
The event was held on Wednesday 29 March to officially open the new Tony Sheumack Centre for Performing Arts and the Jenny Williams Centre for Human Movement.
The buildings cost $12.2 million and are named in honour of former principals of Beaconhills College.
Tony Sheumack was the longest standing headmaster of the Berwick campus and Jenny Williams was the establishing principal when the campus opened in 2003.
The event included speeches and performances showcasing the talent of students at the campus.
Ms Williams and Mr Sheumack gave speeches, speaking on their gratitude they have for the college and the honour of being commemorated with these buildings.
MPs Gary Maas and Brad Battin were in attendance. Mr Mass gave a speech representing the State Government, which contributed $2 million to the project.
While Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne Dr Phillip Freier spoke last and ended with a prayer.
The new buildings present a brand new auditorium and new active space for both the students and wider community.
The new auditorium includes a gallery space, studio space, music room and dance studios.
While the new active space includes double sports courts, a spin room, weight training space, wellbeing room, change rooms and a kitchenette.
Beaconhills College is existed for the new space to be used by students and the community.
