SPORTS grounds in Casey will be resurfaced to warm season grasses over the next six months.
The City of Casey is continuing its program of converting sports grounds to warm season grasses as part of its commitment to combat the effects of the drought.
The sports grounds set to be converted include Betula Reserve, Edwin Flack Reserve, Frog Hollow Reserve, K M Reedy Reserve, Kalora Park, Reema Recreation Reserve and Max Pawsey Reserve.
Last summer 11 sports grounds were changed to warm season grasses, which use up to 60 per cent less water than the traditional cool season grasses.
The City of Casey has also installed rainwater tanks at a number of existing sports facilities.
