Youth step up as leaders

YOUNG people from the City of Casey who work, live or study in Narre Warren South and Hampton Park have the chance to be part of an exciting initiative to benefit their communities.
The South Eastern Region Migrant Resource Centre is currently recruiting 15 young people, between the ages of 12 and 25, to form a Young People’s Action Committee (YPAC) to run the Youth Foundations Victoria Project in Narre Warren South and Hampton Park.
Youth Foundations Victoria is a new and empowering project funded by the Victorian Government and Bendigo Bank to give young people an opportunity to run projects which would benefit their communities.
YPAC is aimed at providing young people with an opportunity to build skills in leadership and decision making, grant making, media presentation, marketing and volunteering.
Once formed, the YPAC committee would look at the needs of young people in Narre Warren South and Hampton Park and award grants of up to $2000 to appropriate projects.
