Mini fete’s big lesson

A BERWICK school’s values of cooperation, enthusiasm, respect and friendliness were shown last week when the students ran a mini fete.
It was the first mini fete at their school, Berwick Fields Primary School, and it was held on Tuesday 1 December.
Teacher Lara Laverman said each class decided on what they would like to sell at the mini fete.
“This was then used as the basis for different learning tasks leading up to the event such as promoting their stalls by posters, deciding on the price of their items and dealing with the exchange of money,” she said.
Money raised from the event will be divided between the 28 classes and the students will choose where to donate it.
Ms Laverman said ideas have included donating presents at Christmas wishing trees, supporting the RSPCA, Royal Children’s Hospital or the community with food vouchers.
