Man’s arm slashed after chase

A DOVETON man was taken to hospital with severe lacerations to his arm after an assault last week.
Police said the 54-year-old man was walking home along Ash Street, Doveton, about 10.30pm on Friday 12 February, when he was approached and chased by three men, described as being of Sudanese appearance.
Police believe one of the men was armed with a large kitchen knife or machete and struck the victim on his arm.
The man managed to enter his house without further attack and called an ambulance. He was taken to Dandenong Hospital. Police said the attackers were aged between 25 and 30.
Anyone with information should call Detective Senior Constable Raymond Ross at the Casey Criminal Investigation Unit on 9705 3121.
