A LEARNER driver ploughed through the side of a Narre Warren South house last week after hitting the accelerator instead of the brake of her Kia van.
Police said the 47-year-old woman was lucky to walk away unhurt from the crash about 6.30pm on Monday 8 February.
Leading Senior Constable Ken Niven, from the Casey Traffic Management Unit, said the Narre Warren South woman panicked when she hit the accelerator instead of the brake and drove through the roundabout on Sneddon Drive before hitting the house on Damon Close.
Police said three people were at home at the time of the crash.
“They got the fright of their lives,” Leading Sen Const Niven said.
“They said the whole house shook.”
No one was injured as a result of the crash and no charges have been laid.
The Narre Warren SES unit was also called to assist on the night.
