ALMOST 70 years ago their eyes first met across the dance floor.
Last week Harry and Mavis Penny celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in front of family and friends at TLC Aged Care’s Homewood in Hallam.
Way back when, after catching Harry’s eye, Mavis told a friend “I’m going to get that bloke” and almost seven decades later she still has him.
The couple celebrated with their five children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as staff at the centre.
TLC founder Dr John Leaper congratulated the happy couple on their special occasion.
“Harry and Mavis epitomise the family values, love, care and passion that TLC strives for,” he said.
