Stockland lights up for Diwali

As many locals continued their Diwali festivities recently, Stockland residents were treated to a free community event, with the vibrance of the festival delivered right to their doorstep.

The religious festival, which lasts five days and celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, was celebrated in a terrific display of friendship and community spirit across the South East.

The Berwick and Clyde residences, Stockland Minta and Stockland Evergreen, put on a show of colour for the 350 residents in attendance, who relished in the festival of lights through interactive performances from traditional dancers, henna artists, children’s craft activities, food trucks and a DJ.

Stockland development director Sommer Liston said Stockland takes pride in bringing people together.

“Stockland’s Diwali celebrations are fast becoming a community favourite,” she said.

“We’re always delighted to see residents join us for this vibrant event each year, and it gives people an opportunity to learn more about the cultural significance of this festival.
