Trial delight

IT will now be easier to get around by foot or bike near Berwick Railway Station, Monash University and the activity centre, thanks to State Government funding.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley announced last week $46,405 funding for the Hallam Valley Trail.
The funding will connect the trail through Sweeney Res-erve to give pedestrians access to vital services.
Ms Graley said she was delighted to announce the substantial allocation of funding to develop this link in the trail network.
“Completing links in the Hallam Valley Trail will help build on this area’s fantastic recreational opportunities for cyclists and pedestrians,” she said.
The funding was allocated as part of the Parks Victoria Metropolitan Trail Network Grants Program in 2010-11.
The funding forms part of the annual program to complete links on metropolitan trails across Melbourne, enhancing recreational opportunities for cyclists and pedestrians.
“We have almost 700km of regional off-road trails in metropolitan Melbourne, along areas including parklands, rivers and streams,” Ms Graley said
“The works will increase opportunities for sustainable transport and improving the health and physical wellbeing of Victorians.”
