EMERGING local cricketers will square off against Sri Lanka’s best this Sunday at Cranbourne’s Donnelly Reserve.
An under-19 Southern District XI loaded with Casey-based stars will pit its skills against a touring party from St Peter’s College, Colombo, as part of the Young Cricketers Development and International Experience Program.
The Sri Lankan team will boast four members of the Under-19 World Cup squad that bowed out in the semi-final against Australia in New Zealand last summer.
The 40-overs-a-side game will start at 10.30am, and organisers are encouraging cricket-starved locals to drop in for a look at the prospective international stars from both countries.
