New wheels for SES

THE Narre Warren SES will score a new medium sized rescue vehicle as part of an $11.6 million upgrade of vehicles and safety equipment.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley said the State Government was taking action to ensure that Narre Warren SES volunteers had the resources that they needed.
“The SES is integral in emergency management in the City of Casey,” she said.
Last year, the crews from Narre Warren received more than 260 calls during a 12-hour period.
“The new 2WD will assist the wonderful volunteers in their work,” Ms Graley said.
Across the state, 5,500 SES volunteers are on call day and night to assist the community during times of great need.
They respond to around 19,000 requests for help every year.
