NOMINATIONS are open for this year’s Lindsay King Arts Initiative Award.
The prestigious award recognises the significant contribution of an individual to the development of arts and culture in the City of Casey.
The award, which is now in its fourth year, is in memory of the late Lindsay King who made a valuable contribution to the arts in Casey, as well as to local history and tourism.
Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford said Lindsay King was well known as the town crier, the co-ordinator of the Pioneers Bush Band and Skills group and as one of the organisers of many Australia Day celebrations in Cranbourne.
“He made a vigorous commitment to the arts, local history, tourism and culture, and always made time to share his skills and abilities with the community,” she said.
Nominations for 2010 will close on Monday 28 June. For details, visit www.casey.vic.gov.au/arts or call 9705 5200.
