CASEY’S traffic police now have a new name.
From today, 1 July, the former Casey Traffic Management Unit will be known as Casey Highway Patrol.
Senior Constable Allen Inderwisch welcomed the name change, saying it better reflected the role of traffic police.
“Casey Highway Patrol is more recognisable. Other states in the country have been using the name for some time now,” he said.
“The only thing that’s changed is the name. We still have the same core functions of traffic enforcement and education in the City of Casey.”
