POLICE are warning drivers about the dangers of driving with frosted-over windscreens and windows.
Senior Constable Allen Inderwisch, from Casey Highway Patrol, said a number of “close calls” had been reported to police recently.
“We are concerned that people are leaving their cars outside overnight during the cold weather and then driving them the next morning with frost still on their windscreens and side windows,” he said.
“We’ve had some close calls with drivers not seeing other vehicles.”
Drivers are reminded to take a few minutes to scrape or wash their windscreens clear every morning in an effort to avoid any collisions.
“It’s very dangerous to drive around with frosted windscreens, especially at peak times,” Sen Const Inderwisch said.
“We want to make sure everyone gets to work safely.”
