SOUTHERN Health, the operator of Casey Hospital in Berwick, has been named the joint winner of the 2010 Business Award for Public Service.
Southern Health chief executive Shelly Park said the award was an outstanding achievement and testament to the staff across the health organisation’s 43 sites.
The Australian Business Awards are a national awards program recognising the success, innovation and ethics of Australian companies and organisations across all industry sectors.
“It is a honour and privilege to be awarded an award of this high calibre,” Ms Park said.
“Our dedication to providing the best patient care remains at the top of our priority list and we are thrilled to be able to share this with our staff, families and supporters.”
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan said it was great to see Victoria’s largest public health provider awarded for their hard work in the community.
“To be nationally recognised is a great achievement. It further shows that health services in the region are some of the best in the country,” he said.
