All out of excuses

CASEY traffic police say they have heard every excuse under the sun when it comes to people trying to get out of receiving fines.
Senior Constable Chris Tetof recalled the funniest excuse he had heard from a driver.
He said the man was doing about 24km/h over the speed limit.
“I asked why he was speeding and said because he was transporting ovaries to a university,” Sen Const Tetof said. “I’ll never forget that one.”
Senior Constable Allen Inderwisch said he remembered pulling over a man who was clocked at 35km/h over the limit.
“He said he was speeding because his dog had thrown up on the back seat and he needed to get home before it stained his seats,” he said.
Sen Const Inderwisch said no excuses or tears would cut it.
“We are taking a zero tolerance.”
