The Beaconsfield women’s team will take a much-needed break over the King’s Birthday weekend after the Eagles were defeated by 67 points by East Ringwood on Saturday.

The Eagles battled hard in the opening exchanges, trailing by just nine points at quarter time, before East Ringwood put the pedal to the metal in the second term.

The Kangaroos kicked 4.3 to no score in the second stanza to open up a six-goal lead at the major break.

Kira Emery, Alyssa La Rocca, Maddi Blackburn, Sammy Wilko, Luca Pintaudi and Ava Stillwell tried their hearts out for the Eagles, but the Kangas were simply too good.

Emmerson Bylett kicked three for the winners, while Nicola Davidson, Paris Gebel-Lamb and Kay Wotherspoon contributed two each.
