NARRE Warren North firefighters are calling on the pubic to help restore the brigade’s first trailer.
Fourth Lieutenant Phil Haywood said the trailer was used as a firefighting appliance when it first opened its doors back in 1945.
“This is the very first trailer the brigade used,” Mr Haywood said.
“It would have had a tank and hoses on it, and it would have been towed behind a vehicle as the fire fighting appliance. It has so much history behind it.”
The brigade is hoping to display the restored trailer at the fire station, along with a plaque explaining the history of the Narre Warren North Fire Brigade.
Mr Haywood, who has been a member at the Narre Warren North Fire Brigade for the past three-and-a-half years, wants the community to lend a helping hand to restore the trailer to a “nice” condition.
The Narre Warren North Fire Brigade, which is located on Narre Warren North Road, is fully run by volunteers.
To help restore the trailer call Phil Haywood on 0433 484 367 or call the brigade on 9796 8283.
