RENOWNED textile artist Nola Sterling is inspiring locals with her colourful craft and exotic embroidery skills in a new exhibition called Threadworks 2010.
Hosted in the Civic Centre Art Space in Narre Warren, the exhibition includes a number of intricate and beautiful textile pieces created especially for the occasion.
Ms Sterling has published a book on wearable art and is best-known for her exquisite Japanese fabric-folding and sashiko, machine embroidery, quilting and free-style fabric making.
“I love to mix techniques and styles in my work, so that each creation is unique and displays a variety of sewing disciplines,” Ms Sterling said.
Threadwords 2010 will be on display from now until 29 September.
The Civic Centre Art Space is located in the City of Casey Council Offices on Magid Drive, Narre Warren, and is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
