Club rallies behind Tuck

BERWICK footballer Travis Tuck has become the first player to record a third strike under the AFL’s drug code.
On Tuesday night the AFL tribunal banned him from playing for 12 weeks and fined him $5000.
The action comes after Tuck, who plays for Hawthorn Football Club, was found unconscious in a car last Friday night in Lyall Road, Berwick.
Media reports have said police found a small glass jar containing a clear liquid when they searched the car. A pipe and other drug paraphernalia were also found.
Police called an ambulance when they were unable to wake the Hawks’ midfielder, who is the son of AFL games record holder Michael Tuck.
He had regained consciousness by the time paramedics arrived and was transported to a nearby hospital. He was released the following morning.
It is believed he will not be charged with any offence.
