MARAMBA Primary School’s top 12 chess students showed off their best moves at two recent tournaments.
The students, competed at Fleetwood Primary School and Upper Beaconsfield, taking out the title at both.
Each player in the team finished in the top 30 of the competition.
Maramba Primary School student Jeevanjot won the Fleetwood Primary School tournament and Vimukthi won the Upper Beaconsfield tournament. Tim finished second at both competitions.
Teacher Jeff Smit said he was impressed with the way the students had represented the school.
“The results are due to the student’s high levels of enthusiasm for the school’s chess program,” Mr Smit said.
The top four students have now been invited to take part in the state chess championship later this year.
