THE Rotary Club of Berwick has a new exchange student from Vienna, Austria.
The club welcomed their newest exchange student Klara Kinnl as part of the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program.
The program is a 12-month exchange of secondary school students sponsored by local and overseas Rotary clubs.
Klara will stay with a number of Berwick Rotarians and their families during her year-long stay in Australia.
The 15-year-old knows five foreign languages and enjoys outdoors activities such as scouting, hiking and mountain bike riding.
She has started school at Beaconhills Secondary College in Pakenham.
The major objective of the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program is to further international goodwill and understanding as ambassadors for their country.
The Rotary Club of Berwick is also sponsoring a visit to Denmark by Ellie Porter. The club became involved with the program in 1969.
