Square survey seeks submissions

The City of Casey wants feedback from local residents and businesses on a possible redevelopment of part of the Spring Square shopping and activity centre in Hallam.
Council is considering the redevelopment in response to Coles Myer’s interest in establishing a BiLo supermarket in the square.
Casey’s director of planning and development services, Paul Bawden, said the redevelopment would include new outdoor public spaces, a new preschool and maternal child health centre and additional car parking.
Comments are being sought from residents of Hallam, from Spring Square businesses and from landowners and businesses operating in the Hallam industrial and commercial areas.
“Council is carrying out a comprehensive process of consultation to ensure a broad cross section of community views can be taken into consideration on the proposal,” Mr Bawden said.
A onepage survey has been delivered to Hallam households and businesses in the proposed development area.
The closing date for responses is Thursday 25 August.
There will also be a community workshop at Hallam Seniors Centre from 7pm to 8.30pm on Monday 22 August.
For more information phone council’s business attraction and development officer Rick Grounds on 9705 5200.
