Royal lace gaze- President of the inner Wheel Club of Berwick Isobel Caulfield, guest speaker Patricia Begg and district chairman Margaret Macdonald at the Inner Wheel Club of Berwick’s annual luncheo

LACE belonging to Queen Elizabeth I was one of the intricate pieces of lace on display at the Inner Wheel Club of Berwick’s annual luncheon.
President of the club, Isobel Caulfield, said the luncheon, which was held at the Akoonah Park function centre on Monday, attracted 140 women.
Ms Caulfield said the highlight of the event was guest speaker Patricia Begg’s talk about hand-made lace.
“She is a world renowned speaker and was very entertaining,” Ms Caulfield said. More than $2000 was raised from the event, with the money collected set to go to Inner Wheel Charities.
Ms Caulfield said some of the money would also be going to the John Mcrae Dementia Centre.
The luncheon ran from midday to 3.30pm, with guests treated to a two-course meal.
