CONSTRUCTION of stage two at Timbarra P-9 College in Berwick has been approved for tender.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan announced the Labor Government’s $7 million investment in the construction for new classrooms and a gymnasium complex as part of Stage Two.
“The announcement of the tender is great news for the Timbarra school community and new buildings will move rapidly to construction,” Mr Donnellan said.
Construction will include classrooms for science and technology and facilities for drama, music and food technology.
A joint use oval to be constructed within the City of Casey has also been proposed and is expected to provide significant opportunities for training and play by both Timbarra students and local sporting clubs, Mr Donnellan said.
Stage One included a physical education facility, three learning areas, library and three indoor competition size courts.
Mr Donnellan said construction of Stage Two would support local jobs for tradespeople and construction workers and the successful tender will be announced in January 2011.
