Three cheers for squad

THE Endeavour Fusion Cheerleading Squad was very successful at national level in several categories at the Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation National finals.
The group placed second in the level 2 and 3 stunt group, third in the Cheer Routine and fifth in the Pom Routine, competing against teams from Queensland, NSW and South Australia.
YMCA cheerleading coach Briegh Nish said the result was amazing considering that it was their first year of competition.
“The girls trained very hard all year and made some amazing progress, I’m very proud to be their coach,” Ms Nish said.
“We’re looking forward to next year’s competitive season and growing our program to several squads.
“Our next big goal is to win a national title and send one or two of our girls to try out for ‘worlds’. ”
Anybody interested in cheerleading is encouraged to attend tryouts on 19 December, 10am-11.30am at the Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre, located at 10 Raymond McMahon Boulevard, just behind the Endeavour Hills shopping centre.
