TWO Cranbourne TAFE students have won a competition to develop multi-media products for local business.
Jodie Barnes and Joanne Serpanchy beat 30 other students to take home the major prize in a Narre Warren Chamber of Commerce sponsored multimedia design competition.
Chisholm Institute Cranbourne multimedia teacher Calvin Osborne developed the competition in partnership with Bob Burns and Ross Neilson from the Narre Warren Chamber of Commerce.
“I wanted to give the students the chance to develop real multimedia products for real businesses,” Mr Osborne said.
The competition, sponsored by local businesses, invited Chisholm Institute Cranbourne students to develop a product for the sponsor.
“We were lucky enough to get some terrific sponsors on board, who gave us some really diverse multi-media projects to work on,” Mr Osborne said.
Students created DVDs, websites and virtual tours.
The winning entry was an information DVD for Quest Frankston and Narre Warren.
Mr Osborne said he hoped the competition would promote Chisholm as a great resource to local businesses and potential students.
Sponsors included Narre Warren Chamber of Commerce, Quest Serviced Apartments, The Gordon Marvil Group, OnSide Victoria, Remarkapool, Westpac Fountain Gate and Cottles Clotheslines.
Accommodation, vouchers and cash were among the prizes on offer.
