A SERIES of Berwick homes was robbed last week as residents slept inside.
Detective Senior Constable Brian Whitehead said thieves targeted garages at the homes on Thursday, 16 February, between 1.30am and 2am.
He said a home in St Anne’s Crescent was the first stop for thieves who stole a purse and handbag from a car parked inside the garage and the garage door’s remote control.
“The remotes have been used to get out of the garage and taken so that they can come back later,” Det Sen Const Whitehead said.
“People need to make sure that they keep their remotes in a secure location.”
Two homes in Balanka Court were then targeted with a Victor lawnmower stolen from one house and a whipper snipper stolen from the other.
