HEAVY rain failed to stop Berwick Rotary Club members getting their hands dirty at the Berwick Cemetery last week.
Rotarian Mick Morland said it was the 46th year the club had taken part in the annual clean-up.
“At the start, it had long grass around the cemetery and members killed two or three snakes each time,” he said.
This year more than 50 members took part in the annual cemetery clean-up, but all they had to battle was the persistent rain.
The Berwick Rotary Club also annually cleans Wilson Botanic Park and Kurll Park in Harkaway.
Between 50 and 60 members usually take part.
