Councillor under review

A CASEY councillor is to come under review in relation to suspected misuse of items within councillors’ rooms.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, Cr Janet Halsall moved that the issue be discussed in the in-camera session.
Following this, councillors resolved that a sub-committee comprising mayor Kevin Bradford, deputy mayor Rob Wilson, CEO Mike Tyler and manager of corporate services Steve Dalton be formed to review the incident and consider the operation and use of facilities in councillors’ rooms.
The committee will determine if the councillor has breached the Local Government Act and whether police need to be notified.
The committee will meet next week.
