Brutally assaulted for 25 cents

By Lia Bichel
A CRANBOURNE teenager was punched, kicked and robbed of 25 cents in a vicious attack last week.
Police said between 12.40am and 12.50am on 22 January, a 16-year-old man got off a Dandenong to Cranbourne train.
Three or four men who were on the same train followed him to Fairfield Street.
Police said one of the men stopped the teenager and asked him why he had looked at him in a funny manner and punched him on his right cheek.
The teen fell to the ground and was kicked several times.
One member of the group demanded his wallet, which contained 25 cents and one member asked for his mobile phone.
The teen said he did not have a phone and the group fled the area.
The men are described as aged between 16 to 20 years, of African appearance, and short clipped hair.
One of the men was wearing a black hoodie and another was about six feet tall with short curly hair and was wearing red and blue sneakers. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Detective Senior Simon Pulson on 5991 0600 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
