Non-stop entertainment at Bunjil’s first birthday

For a fun-filled day of free and family friendly activities, it’s time to join in and celebrate Bunjil Place’s first birthday on Sunday, 28 October from 10am to 5pm.

The Casey Cares Drought Relief Concert will start at 5pm in the Bunjil Theatre.

“There will be heaps of local performers that will be showcased and the two star acts will be Jonathan Welch who is an international renowned opera singer and will also be leading the voice of the Casey Choir and Allan Caswell, an international country music performer and songwriter,” Cr Wayne Smith said.

“It’s for a good cause and I encourage everyone to come. It’s not a lot of money.

“You’re going to have the best two and half hours that you’ve had for a long time and you’re creating something good for the local community.”

Tickets are $15 each and if you can get a group together of 10 or more it is $10 each.

Throughout the day, performances features include One Fell Swoop Circus, The Listies, buskers and roving entertainers, it’s a day not to be missed.

One Fell Swoop Circus will bring their much-lauded production, By A Thread, to Bunjil Place for two performances only, bringing with them their trademark 30 metres of white rope.

Using no nets or safety harnesses, By A thread offers rich visuals of inventive aerial acrobatics and spectacular skills from some of Australia’s best emerging and established circus artists. Shows will commence at 11am and 2pm.

Alien attacks, toilet paper guns, spew, the rudest word in the world and the most disgusting pair of undies ever seen – welcome to The Listies Makes You LOL! Shows will commence at 10:30am and 1pm in the Bunjil Theatre.

Outdoors and in the sunshine, there’ll be an abundance of entertainment with roving entertainers The Monstrosities and The Seagulls, giant party games and a unique greenscreen GIF station for photo booth fun.

To get creative, there will be party decoration workshops presented by Home-Work, and for those who prefer to sit back and be pampered the Bunjil Place Glam Station will get you glammed up and ready to party.

Buskers in the Plaza will be showcasing some great music, whilst a bundle of food trucks will have all appetites covered with Harry Hoo dumplings, 3 lil monsters and a pizza van, along with let’s waffle and shake and little sugar caravan for the sweet tooth. Along with one giant birthday cake and 1000 cupcakes to share.
