Carols set to ring out in Clyde

A team of walkers have helped raise more $3000 for the Clyde Christmas Carols which promises to be bigger this year.

Gethsemane Church Charity Carols by Candlelight is set to he held on Saturday 1 December from 5.30pm to 9.30pm at the Hillcrest Christian College Oval .

Fun includes free kid’s amusements, free carnival rides, sausage sizzle, food vendors, raffle prizes, free giveaways, Santa aboard a fire truck, and Christmas Carols.

Dozens of walkers took part in the ‘We Walk The Walk’ fundraiser campaign on Saturday 17 November, which covered 30 kilometres from Berwick to the Hillcrest Christian College Oval.

“Five walkers completed the entire 30 kilometres with other faithfuls joining in at intervals and spurring them along the way,” Senior Pastor Kerrigan La-Brooy said.

“Heartfelt thanks to those who couldn’t be there on the day but contributed monetarily.”

Pastor La-Brooy also thanked those who provided cold water and icy pops, as well as assisting with baby-sitting, driving and providing supplies.

The Gethsemane Church is a not-for-profit organisation that helps fed more than 150,000 a year.

Performers at the Carols will include Derick Junkeer, Sheralyn Hill, Noami Horsley, Ebony Portelli, Olivia Giannikopoulos, Pule, Lupe & Viola, Triple Treat Talent Academy, Gethsemane Church Band and Kerrigan La-Brooy.
