City of Casey, in collaboration with community support organisations and local and state government partners, is hosting a special event this September dedicated to the carers in our region.
Uniting, ERMHA, the Chrysalis Foundation, Windemere and Moira have partnered with Council to deliver the 2019 Carers Day Out – an event to acknowledge carers for the positive role they play in the lives of those living with a disability and our community, as well as providing them some well-deserved time out to relax and meet with other carers.
Carers from across Casey, Cardinia and Greater Dandenong are invited to the free event on Wednesday 11 September to join in a day of pampering, food, entertainment and socialising.
There will be a range of activities and offerings including:
• Massages
• Nail painting
• Hand massages
• Yoga and meditation
• Tai chi
• Performances from the Cranbourne Chorale Choir
• Lunch and refreshments served by Sikh Volunteers
• And much more!
Casey mayor Amanda Stapledon encouraged local carers to come along and enjoy a much-deserved day out with other carers from across the region.
“There are many people in our community who have assumed a primary caring role looking after a loved one who might have a disability, illness or is ageing as well as many grandparent and kinship carers,” she said.
“The Carers Day Out is all about celebrating, pampering and acknowledging those people.”
Free transport will be available on the day, with a range of pickup and drop off locations between 9.30am and 2.30pm.
