Community theme to annual carols

By Rebecca Fraser
CASEY residents have been invited to join in the festive spirit at Narre Warren North’s 15th annual Christmas carols on Saturday 10 December.
The event will showcase local talent with more than 1000 people expected to attend.
Organising committee chairman Bert Rae said the carols would be a real community event and urged all local families to attend.
“Families can come and sit on the grass and enjoy the evening,” Mr Rae said.
“Father Christmas will also arrive in a Narre Warren North fire truck.”
Pakenham singer Dianne Van der Veld is set to perform as well as the Cranbourne Lions Municipal Band and singers Chris Newman and Gemma Heritage.
Warrick Glendenning will be the compere and the Dandenong Chorale Society is also set to perform.
Mr Rae said the Narre Warren North Primary School choir had also been rehearsing for the event.
The night kicks off at 6.30pm at Clair Robinson Park in Main Street, Narre Warren North.
The Narre Warren Rotary Club will cook a sausage sizzle and admission is $5 a family which includes a program, candle, sausage and a drink.
