NARRE Warren Cricket Club’s A Grade team resumed with the score of 2/38 against Narre North with Mick Teeuw and Daniel Orchard at the crease.
They both went on contributing 20 runs each.
All the bats got off to a good start, getting the team over the line by 19 runs.
Paul McMahon batted well for 17 and Joshua Amsterdam contributed a well-made 24.
Nicholas Howard and Steve Vannete did the job towards the end with 14 and 10 respectively.

Defending a respectable 222 against St Brigid’s/St Louis, Narre Warren had claimed four wickets by drinks and was well on the way to a win.
However, St Brigid’s/St Louis commenced a fightback with a fifth-wicket partnership of 97.
Gareth Rees’ opening spell of 16 overs claimed four, including two consecutive, wickets.
Trent Anderson and Michael Morgan bowled well without luck and Paul Gould was also bowling tightly.
At tea, St Brigid’s/St Louis required 50 runs with five wickets in hand.
A direct hit from Anderson resulted in a run out and a wicket to Adam Hill saw the wickets start to tumble.
Matt Clarke chimed in with two wickets in one over and Rees claimed the final wicket, St Brigid’s/St Louis losing its final four wickets for three runs, leaving Narre Warren victorious by eight runs.
In a game played in great spirits, best bowlers for Narre Warren were Rees with 5/56 and Clarke 2/0.

Needing 115 runs to win with nine wickets in hand, Narre Warren was confident of getting the win.
The day started poorly with Andy Hyndman out early.
The players put together some partnerships with middle order bats getting starts but failing to capitalise.
Wickets fell steadily and Narre Warren was all out for 139.
Junior players James Giertz (15 in 38 overs) and John Mentiplay (14 from 30) put in great efforts, along with James Camilleri (22), Mark Churchill (19) and Hyndman (14).

Playing Keysborough, Narre Warren batted first making 5/64 off 20 overs in tough conditions.
Keysborough passed the score in the 15th over at 2/72.

Narre Warren played Berwick, lost the toss and was sent into the field.
The bowlers were tight, not giving Berwick any chance to score, and the fielders backed them up, holding Berwick to 58 from 20 overs.
With a small total to chase, the bats attacked the bowling with confidence and achieved the target in the 16th over.
Highlights in the bowling were Tim Vrecv 2/8 and Jacob Waller 1/12, and in the batting Jamie Morrow 35 not out and Nicholas Shirt 32.

Playing Buckley Ridges, this was a great team performance.
Batting first Narre Warren made 4/79 from the 20 overs on a wet ground with every batsman doing exactly what they needed to do.
All eight bowlers and the new wicketkeeper restricted the opposition to be all out in the 16th over for 24 runs.

Narre Warren played at home against St Mary’s, losing the toss and being sent into field.
After 20 overs Narre Warren had restricted the opposition to 52 runs, with Brendan Marrell (1/2 off two overs), Jesse Muzzolini (0/2 off two overs) and Viran Wanigasundara (1/3 off two overs) the best bowlers.
Narre Warren opened the batting with a partnership of 51 with Mitchell Healey making 19 and Tom Dovaston retiring on 25 for a good first-up win.

Playing Berwick, Narre Warren won the toss and elected to bat.
Ryan Hill and Kumuditha Akarawita opened with a partnership of 24 until both retired, followed by another pair of retirees, with seven players batting for the loss of one wicket, the team finishing at 1/86.
Keigan Dickson and Hill opened the bowling and after six overs Berwick was 2/6.
With everyone having a bowl and the team active and talkative in the field, after the 20 overs Berwick was restricted to 5/67, for a great start to the season for Narre Warren.
