Inner Wheel salutes its own

By Jim Mynard
NARRE Warren Inner Wheel Club members hosted A62 District Chairman (DC) Marilyn Airey to their September meeting.
They dressed as artists and displayed some beautiful handcraft and quilting.
President Anne McGill inducted a new member, Merrilyn Morris.
Excitement bubbled over when the Van der Heydn family arrived and president Anne invited Gail Van der Heydn to come forward, then presented her with a Margarette Golding Award.
She said the award was made because of Ms Van der Heydn’s great involvement and work in the community, mainly at Wellsprings for Women in Dandenong.
“Also, for the past 20 years, Gail has organised the Christmas Mass and luncheon for more than 300 senior parishioners of St Mary’s Church.
“As well as being a Eucharistic minister, who delivers communion to the sick and frail, Gail is also a member of the parish pastoral team.
“Through her membership of Inner Wheel, Gail also helps at Daffodil Day, Coin for a Cord Day, and does Meals on Wheels.”
Board member Carolyn Brown presented Gail with her Margarette Golding Pin and congratulated her on behalf of International Inner Wheel.
