Kelly and partner dance to semis

STAR Berwick dancer Kelly Yates and Polish-born partner David Rozycki progressed to the semi-finals of the Australian Dancesport Championship at Vodafone Arena on Sunday.
The performance comes after reaching the same stage and placing 10th in the event last year.
The pair will find out this week whether they improved on last year’s result after the judges reveal their final rankings.
Ms Yates, 21, and Mr Rozycki performed the waltz, the tango, the fox trot and the quickstep in the International Dancesport Federation competition.
“We felt there was definite improvement within ourselves and we felt more confident than last year,” Ms Yates said.
“The longer you’re with a partner, you seem to grow and learn more and develop more.”
