CRANBOURNE trainers Rodney Douglas and Mick Kent took home minor prizes on the final day of the Flemington spring racing carnival, Saturday’s Emirates Stakes day.
Douglas trained third place-getters Harvard (race one) and Meurice (race two), while Kent’s well-supported mare Trick Of Light was second to outsider Utility in the final race of the day.
Two locally prepared horses ran in the feature race on the card the Group 1 Emirates Stakes.
Greg Eurell’s stable star Apache Cat led but weakened to finish sixth and Colin Alderson’s up-and-comer Flash Trick only managed eighth place in the $750,000 race.
