Narre North runs for finals

NARRE North’s B-grade side continued its charge for the finals with an emphatic win against Buckley Ridges in their one-day match.

Narre North set up its win by making 184 off the allotted overs, Aussie Jones again being among the runs with a fine 69. In reply Buckley Ridges could only manage 89, Jones again starring with 4/26 and being ably supported by Leon Lutersz, who took 3/20.

@BT Sub Sport News:C GRADE

Narre North batted first in the one-day game against Buckley Ridges and made 4/171, Ian Kevezovic top-scoring with 71 not out. Also doing well were Chris Potalej (34) and Matty Ruprecht (29 not out). In reply Buckley Ridges could only manage 5/94, Garry McCaig being best of the bowlers in taking 3/20.

Thanks to tight bowling and good fielding Narre North was able to dismiss Fountain Gate for only 70 runs, Steve Dodman the destroyer taking 4/7. In reply Narre North made the runs for the loss of only four wickets, Brian Hallet top-scoring with 39 not out.

Narre North (125) lost a close game to Maranatha Methodist by two wickets. Highlights of the game were an excellent 70 by Geoff Parker and good bowling performances by Nick Long (3/21) and John Kruize (3/18).

Narre North managed to drag another defeat from the jaws of victory after containing Buckley Ridges to a gettable total of 184. That was due mainly to some great bowling from fiery Martin Dinsdale, who terrorised the opposition, finishing with a four-wicket haul from his allotted overs. In reply Narre North was cruising, at one stage requiring only 80 runs from 18 overs with six wickets in hand. But four ducks for Narre North tightened the contest, the last wicket falling with Narre North eight runs shy of the target.

Narre North suffered a disappointing loss to Southern Pirates and dropped catches allowed Southern Pirates to amass 174. In reply Narre North could manage 103, only Stuart Patterson (36) and Nathan Pulham (20) offering any real resistance.

Chasing Narre Warren’s 178, Narre North’s batsmen worked hard against good bowling on a slow outfield. Narre North managed to bat out the day, being 8/123 at the close. Best of the batsmen were Jacob Matwijkiw (26) and Luke Harvey (20).

After being dismissed for only 73, Narre North fought back to have Endeavour Hills all out for 95, with Bradie Gledhill (3/8) and Carlos Peregine (4/6) being the best of the bowlers. In the second innings Narre North played much better, making 6 /152. Mathew Lee returned to form with a fine 50 not out.

Chasing Buckley Ridges’ 165, Narre North batted well to make 9/184. Best of the batsmen were Chase Lynch (38), Ryan Grafton (34 not out) and Robert Parker (36 not out).

A great effort by the Narre North batsmen to amass a good total of 177. Best of the batsmen were Josh Dowling (63) and Josh Presta (31). In reply Maranatha could only manage 104, Aidan Barclay (3/10) and Pip Attard (2/10) being the main destroyers.
